Invisalign

Some common orthodontic emergencies that can happen with Invisalign include broken or lost aligners, sharp edges on the aligners or attachments, and discomfort or irritation in the mouth.

Retainers

If you experience an emergency with your removable retainer, it is essential to contact your orthodontist or dentist as soon as possible. In the meantime, here are some steps you can take:

If your retainer is broken or damaged, remove it from your mouth and store it in a safe place until you can see your orthodontist. Do not attempt to fix it yourself.
If your retainer is lost or misplaced, try to wear your previous retainer or contact your orthodontist immediately to get a replacement.
If your retainer feels tight or uncomfortable, don’t force it into your mouth. Contact your orthodontist for an appointment to adjust the retainer.
If you experience pain or soreness from your retainer, take over-the-counter pain medication, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, as directed.
If your retainer causes irritation or sores in your mouth, rinse your mouth with saltwater or use an over-the-counter oral pain relief gel to help soothe the area.

Remember, if you have any concerns or questions about your removable retainer, it is always best to consult with your orthodontist or dentist for guidance.
