Dental crowns & bridges

Crowns and bridges are fixed, cemented prosthetic devices that permanently cover the portion of your tooth that sits above the gum line. They may be used to restore a broken tooth, or to close gaps between teeth caused by decay, fracture, or wear and tear.

Dental Crowns

A crown is a type of dental restoration that is used to fix teeth with damage. It can be used to strengthen your weakened tooth or cover any remaining parts of a prepared tooth, including large fillings. Crowns are made from a combination of metals and ceramics, which means they will look very natural and fit in well with the rest of your mouth.

Our crowns are a great option if you are looking to improve the appearance of your tooth. A crown can be used to replace older fillings and make your smile more beautiful. Also, if you have had root canal treatment you will need a crown to protect or cap the restored tooth, allowing you to eat and bite down on it as if it was a real tooth. Crowns are also used to anchor a bridge or denture firmly in place in the mouth.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are one of the options we offer to patients who want to fill a gap left behind after losing a tooth.

The teeth surrounding the gap are ground down and prepared to accommodate the bridge and then the bridge is fixed on the supporting teeth. The bridge covers the defected or the missing tooth and restores the integrity of the dental arch.

Dental bridges do not need to be removed for cleaning and this gives a sense of comfort and convenience and therefore the patient soon accepts the bridge as his or her natural teeth.

How do I take care of my bridge?

A strict regimen of brushing and flossing will keep the bridge and surrounding teeth clean. This is of critical importance as the bridge relies on the neighbouring teeth for support.
